Es unterstützt neben dem Gamecube- und dem Classic Controller viele erhältliche Guitarren und eine USB-Tastatur. Es werden Songs von FretsOnFire unterstützt, die überall im Netz gefunden werden können. Grafisch lehnt es sich zum größten Teil an Guitarfun und FretsOnFire an und enthält einige neue Grafiken. Da das ganze unter GPL veröffentlicht wurde, steht es jedem zu die Source zu überarbeiten und eine eigene Version rauszubringen.
Diese Version kommt unter anderem mit einem Übungs-, Versus-, und Last Man Standinmodus daher, die nochmal einen Haufen Spielspaß garantieren. Erfreulicherweise werden nun auch die Trommel aus Guitar Hero World Tour unterstützt.
Es werden maximal 5 Spieler unterstützt, 4 mit Guitarren und einer mit ner USB-Tastatur. Einen Online-Multiplayermodus hat es auch in dieser Version nicht reingeschafft. Mehr Informationen inkl welche bekannten Guitarren sicher funktionieren, gibt es im offiziellen Wiibrewartikel.
